Book of Nature

I’ve been inside too much this winter, working on work and working on selling a house. All work and no nature makes Dave a dull boy.  So today I took note of my surroundings a bit more.

Chickadees greeted me in the front yard, in the barren crab apple tree.

A red headed wood pecker was in a neighbors tree, as was a cardinal, sing from his oaken fortress.

Green needles looked toward the light while burrs held their seeds tight.
